Code of Conduct
Healing Women Veterans | HealingWomenVeterans.com
Effective Date: May 29, 2026
Healing Women Veterans exists because every woman who has served deserves a space where she is believed, respected, and never made to feel alone. This community was built by a survivor, for survivors.
This Code of Conduct applies to everyone who participates in our community — whether through the website, courses, forums, social media, email correspondence, or any other Healing Women Veterans platform. By participating, you agree to uphold these standards and help protect the safety of every woman in this space.
1. Our Core Values
Everything we do is grounded in these values:
-
Believe — We believe every survivor's story, without question or judgment
-
Respect — We honor each woman's journey, timeline, and healing process
-
Safety — We actively protect the emotional and physical safety of our community
-
Compassion — We lead with kindness, even in difficult conversations
-
Confidentiality — What is shared in this community stays in this community
-
Empowerment — We lift each other up and never tear each other down
2. What We Expect from Every Member
Be kind and supportive.
This community includes women at very different stages of healing. Some are just beginning. Some are years into their journey. Meet every woman where she is with patience and warmth.
Listen without judgment.
You do not have to agree with someone to respect them. Avoid dismissing, minimizing, or questioning another member's experience, feelings, or choices.
Protect confidentiality.
Never share another member's personal story, name, or identifying information outside of this community — not on social media, not in conversation, not anywhere. What is shared here is shared in trust.
Use content warnings.
When sharing content that may be triggering — such as detailed accounts of trauma, assault, or self-harm — please include a content warning (CW) at the beginning of your post so members can choose whether to read on.
Respect different paths to healing.
Healing is not one-size-fits-all. Do not pressure others to pursue a specific treatment, therapy, VA claim outcome, or healing method. Offer support, not prescriptions.
Honor the mission.
This space exists to support women veterans healing from MST. Please keep conversations aligned with that purpose.
3. What Is Not Allowed
The following behaviors will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the community:
-
Harassment, bullying, threatening, or intimidating any member
-
Doubting, questioning, or challenging a member's account of their trauma
-
Discriminatory language or behavior based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or any other characteristic
-
Sharing another member's personal information without their consent (doxxing)
-
Posting graphic, explicit, or sexually violent content without a content warning, or at all if it serves no supportive purpose
-
Promoting or glorifying self-harm, suicide, or dangerous behavior
-
Spam, solicitation, or unauthorized promotion of products or services
-
Impersonating another person or misrepresenting your identity
-
Any conduct that undermines the safety, trust, or wellbeing of the community
4. Mental Health and Crisis Support
This community is a peer support space, not a crisis intervention service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis, please reach out to professional resources:
-
Veterans Crisis Line: Call 988, then press 1 | Text 838255 | Chat at VeteransCrisisLine.net
-
National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN): 1-800-656-4673

5. Reporting a Violation
If you witness or experience behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to us. You will never be penalized for making a good-faith report. Your report will be handled with confidentiality and care.
To report a concern, contact us at: info@healingwomenveterans.com
6. Consequences for Violations
We take violations of this Code seriously. Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, consequences may include:
-
A private warning and conversation
-
Temporary suspension from community participation
-
Permanent removal from the community and Site
-
Reporting to appropriate authorities if warranted
7. A Note from Our Founder
I built this space because I needed it and it didn't exist. I know what it feels like to be doubted, dismissed, and unseen. That will never happen here.
Every woman who walks through this door has already shown incredible courage just by showing up. My commitment to you is that we will always protect this space — fiercely and without apology.
— Abigail, Founder, Healing Women Veterans
NOTE: This Code of Conduct may be updated at any time. Continued participation in the Healing Women Veterans community constitutes acceptance of the most current version.
